Legit Bacon Burgers
Servings: 4
INGREDIENTS:
Hamburgers:
1 pound Grass fed lean ground beef (Sub ground turkey for less fat)
• 1 cup fresh basil chopped • 2 eggs (sub 1 egg for less fat)
•1 teaspoon sea salt
• 1/2 teaspoon fresh cracked pepper
•3 cloves garlic minced
• 1 tablespoon olive oil
Toppings
•1/2 white onion
•sliced mushroom (200g)
•2 slices of bacon (sugar free)
•1 avocado
• 1 small Eggplant (if desired for a bun)
•1 small Jalapeño ( If you like it spicy)
BURGER INSTRUCTIONS:
1 Combine all the ingredients for the hamburgers and knead until well combined.
2 Heat a grill pan on the stove over medium heat or if you have a BBQ use that.
3 Divide the meat into four patties. Drizzle each meat patty with olive oil. Then grill for four minutes on each side (or to personal taste).
4 Assemble burgers with buns, cooked bacon, mushrooms, onion, avocado wedges, and sliced Jalapeño
5Serve with Super Crispy potato bits!
TOPPING INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Slice up bacon into small chucks and cook in a large pan. Once the bacon is crispy or cooked to your desired taste, remove and set to the side.
2. Remove some of the oil from the pan, only a light coat. Throw in the mushrooms and onions, cook on medium, stirring occasionally. Once slightly browed, turn down to low and let those bad boys caramelize- YUM!
Optional Eggplant Bun:
1 Lightly coat the eggplant with olive oil
2 Throw on the grill for 2 minutes each side or until crispy- not black!
