WHAT IS STREET PARKING SHIFT?!?

“NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE STREET PARKING SHIFT WORKOUTS...” 

We see this comment time and time again on social media posts from longtime members and first time exercisers. SO WHAT IS STREET PARKING SHIFT?

The SHIFT workouts are a more SIMPLE version of the daily program. This version is great for those who may be new to this type of training, those returning from illness or injury, pregnant/postpartum mamas, seniors, even your kids!

With that said...
Is it JUST for beginners? NO! But it sure is a great place to start.
Is it JUST for pregnant/postpartum mamas? NO! But it is an invaluable option for every season of mom life. 
Is it too easy for those who are already relatively fit?!? MOST DEFINITELY NO! 

SIMPLE DOES NOT MEAN EASY

In the case of Street Parking SHIFT workouts, simple means accessible and effective. You don’t need experience, you don’t need equipment (other than your body and either a set of light dumbbells or kettlebell) and like all SP workouts, you don’t need a lot of time. 

Just because a workout may have simple -  as in less compound - movements doesn’t mean it’s not going to be effective - especially when done properly with your appropriate level of intensity. 

For instance:
If Program A & B have thrusters in the workout, SHIFT will have push presses and air or goblet squats. If Program A & B have wall walks, SHIFT will have push ups or inchworms. If Program A has double unders, SHIFT will have taps or single unders. 

What does this mean...
It means SHIFT is a great workout for you and anyone else who wants to join you. It’s not LESS challenging, it’s MORE accessible! Your kids can join in. Or your neighbors who see you doing your Street Parking workouts but have never stepped foot in a gym as you can hit this together. Or maybe your older dad had a knee replacement and is trying to get into a regular fitness routine - it’s a workout that allows everyone, no matter the skill level, to workout together. 

  • It means when you’re traveling and perhaps have no equipment... check out SHIFT. 

  • It means when you are recuperating from illness or injury... check out SHIFT.

  • It means when it’s really cold outside and your living room feels like your only option for where to workout... check out SHIFT. 

You get the point. It’s there for EVERYONE, anytime and can help eliminate any of the common obstacles (or excuses) we all face.

Sometime during the month of November, we encourage ALL Street Parking members to incorporate a SHIFT workout into their week! 
* * *Even if SHIFT is your regular go-to for the daily workout...  we want to make sure we see and hear from YOU! Tag us in your posts with #SPSHIFT
 IDEAS:

  • Turn off the timer and hit a bodyweight only SHIFT on a day when you are extra sore or tired!

  • Do it when maybe you would have opted for Program A, and see what it feels like to go all out... and even how you feel afterward!

  • Traveling for a holiday weekend? Get your kids, family or friends to join in!
