DUMBBELLS ONLY FOR ONE MONTH.
Project April is an unofficial challenge to members to only use dumbbells for the Daily Workouts during the entire month of April. It’s as simple as that, or… is it?
Project April will help you build confidence that if all you have are dumbbells (or find yourself in a situation when dumbbells are all you have) it is enough. Many of us grow an attachment to our decked out garage gyms. We love our barbells. Or we think since we can go heavier with a barbell, it must be harder than dumbbells… we get it and we’ve heard it all. But we also know how challenging the dumbbell version can be, especially for anyone who isn’t used to it. So Project April is the time to prove it.
Brand new to Street Parking or this style of training? Start with the OnRamp or SHIFT workouts, where all you need is a light set of dumbbells for any workout.
Is Program A already your go-to option for Daily Workouts? Use Project April to level up! Decide if you want to challenge yourself by adding in some increased intensity days, or increase your DB weight on movements you’re proficient with, or mix in our all new DB Strength program to really feel the burn. The options you can create for yourself are endless, it’s up to you to make it happen.
How It Works...
We will still program ALL program versions of the Daily Workouts that we always do.
We will still include other movements/equipment in those workouts (such as box jumps or pull ups) as usual. As always, customizations will be provided for everything – which includes what to use if you ONLY have Dumbbells!
You do not need to sign up and there is no cost or requirement to participate. It’s your choice. But, we challenge any who are up to it to prove to themselves that dumbbells are really all you need and to choose Program A for their Daily Workouts during the whole month of April! Don’t worry, it’s not like you can’t do any other workouts like your favorite Power 30 or Bro Session during the month. This is about your bread and butter Daily Workouts. Are you in?

Project April (or “Project April: Program A”) started as something Julian and I thought would be fun to do back in April 2018. We noticed that many members at that time were under the impression that the Dumbbell version or PROGRAM A was the “easier” version of the Daily Workout. We often answered questions or had to explain that the different programs were NOT levels, just options based on available equipment. We were trying to teach our members that even if all that you have access to are dumbbells, it is more than enough.
So we decided we would ONLY do Program A for an entire month, no barbells or sandbags. We wanted to put our “money where our mouth is” and show that we believe in our own message and program. We posted on the Members FB Group that we were doing it - and in true Street Parking Community fashion - everyone jumped on board, and Project April was born.

No. Project April is simply following the Program A (SHIFT or OnRamp) version of the Daily Workouts, or completing any of the Extra Program DB Strength sessions.

SHIFT workouts programmed in the month of April will count towards the Project April Badge. OnRamp workouts (found in Extra Programs) also count towards the badge.

No sign up required, just complete and log any workout from the list of applicable programs and watch your badge counter go up!

DB Strength Series 1 & 2 (DB Strength Series 2 Coming Soon!)

If you do Program A and SHIFT of the same workout it will NOT count.

Log 16 DAYS of separate workouts from the applicable programs in the month of April and you will earn the Project April badge. If you do Program A and SHIFT of the same workout it will NOT count.

Project April does not mean dumbbell only workouts, it is simply choosing the dumbbell version of the workout over barbell (Program B) or sandbag (found in Program C).
You will still see other equipment used in workouts like a plyo box, pull up bar, kettlebell, etc. We always provide customization options for those who ONLY have access to a pair of dumbbells. But even if you use a box, kettlebell, pull up bar, etc, you are still completing Project April as long as you are using your dumbbells!

Team version will not count toward the Project April badge. If you complete the Team Version with dumbbells, log it under Program A and make a note!
